The 2nd Annual Stillwater’s Golf Cup Challenge was held on September 28th and 29th, 2016 and we added two more 2 man teams.  The team captains were once again Brad Dismukes and Doug Givens and they worked together to pick the teams as evenly as possible. They also set the matches to promote a high level of competition. The Cup teams consisted of a total of 16 participants (8 on each team). Each Cup Team consisted of four 2 man teams. Each 2 man team played a 2 man team from the other team and each hole was worth one point. If a hole is tied than a ½ point is awarded to each team. The teams played 27 holes each day at StillWaters Golf Course in Dadeville, AL. 

The participants of the second StillWaters Cup were as follows: Brad’s team included the 2 man teams of himself and Dean Phelps, John Boone and Ken Dismukes, Russ Thompson and Ron Pinckard and TJ Shavers and Rob Heard. Doug’s team consisted of himself and Bart Leswick, Bill Gillespie and James Petrunic, Jeff Cox and Jeremy Smith, and Al Thrash and Bob Gipson.

The captains once again paired the matches to promote a high level of competitive competition.  After the first day, Brad’s team had a 55 ½ to 52 ½ lead. The teams went to Copper’s Grill for dinner and cornhole Wednesday night for fellowship and some memorable conversation concerning the day’s play. The cornhole game created its own debate that saw tempers flare but in the end the deep friendships held strong. The second day saw Doug’s team pull ahead to take the StillWaters Cup for the second consecutive year. Jeff Cox and Jeremy Smith once again won the 2 man competition for the event. Doug Gipson and Bart Leswick took 2nd in the 2man competition and TJ Shavers and Rob Heard took 3rd Place. Bob Gipson won closest the closest to the pin competition.
